How the trademark fee calculator works
Choose what you are filing
A new application on Form TM-A, a renewal on Form TM-R, or a notice of opposition or counter-statement on Form TM-O.
Choose the applicant type
Individuals, startups and small enterprises pay the lower statutory fee when they file proof of status; companies and others pay the standard fee.
Set the number of classes
Fees are charged per class. Add expedited examination if you want the application examined out of turn.
Which applicant type are you?
The Form TM-A fee depends on who applies. These are the statutory rates from the First Schedule to the Trade Marks Rules, 2017, as published by IP India, with the date they were last checked.

Frequently asked questions
Does the calculator include the professional fee?
No. It shows only the statutory government fees payable to IP India. GB Legal Associates quotes its professional fee separately and in writing before any work starts.
Who qualifies for the lower fee?
Individuals, startups recognised by DPIIT and small enterprises registered as MSMEs, when they file proof of their status with the application. Companies, LLPs and other applicants pay the standard fee.
Is the fee charged per class?
Yes. Form TM-A fees are charged for each class in the application, so a two-class application pays twice the class fee. See our guide to choosing trademark classes.
Are there other government fees after filing?
Possibly. Later steps such as a request for a hearing adjournment, an amendment, or a certified copy have their own statutory fees. Most applications need none of these.
How current are the fees?
Each amount shows its source and the date it was checked against the official schedule. Fees change only by amendment of the Trade Marks Rules; we re-check them regularly and before every filing.
