Who writes our pages

Every guide and practice page is written by, or with, the professionals at GB Legal Associates who handle that kind of matter: Registered Trade Marks Agents, patent agents and advocates. The author is named on the page wherever they have agreed to be named. Pages are written for business owners, founders and in-house teams, in plain English, with the answer first and the detail after.

Review by a registered professional

Before a page is published, a registered agent or attorney reviews it for legal accuracy against the current law and office practice. The reviewer is shown in the "Reviewed by" line with their credential. A page is not published until the review is complete.

Official sources

Statements of law, procedure, forms and fees are checked against primary sources and linked so you can verify them:

• the Trade Marks Act, 1999, the Patents Act, 1970, the Copyright Act, 1957, the Designs Act, 2000 and the rules made under them;
• the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (ipindia.gov.in) and the Copyright Office (copyright.gov.in);
• WIPO for the Madrid Protocol and the PCT, and the national or regional office for each foreign country.

Where official sources are silent or unclear, the page says so rather than guessing.

Government fees

Only statutory government fees appear on the website, taken from the official fee schedule and shown with the source and the date they were verified. Fees are re-checked whenever the schedule changes and at least every 90 days. The website does not show the firm's professional fees, packages or offers; those are quoted in writing for each matter.

Dates and updates

Each page shows when it was published and when it was last updated. We update a page when the law, rules, forms, fees or office practice change. Updates that change the substance of a page change the "Last updated" date; small corrections of typing or links do not.

Corrections

If you find an error, write to info@gblegalassociates.com with the page address. We check every report, and correct factual errors promptly. Where a correction changes the meaning of advice on a page, we say so on the page.

Independence

The website carries no paid placements, sponsored content or affiliate links. We link to other organisations only because they are the official or most useful source.

What our pages will not say

Our pages do not promise outcomes or fixed timelines, do not use superlatives or rankings to describe the firm, and do not compare the firm with others. Typical timelines are given as ranges based on official procedure. Client reviews are never written or edited by the firm.
